Truist Championship prepares to usher in golf’s new era in Charlotte

Golf’s new era in Charlotte doesn’t just include a new name. The Truist Championship promises more elevated hospitality experiences, too.

Why it matters: Charlotte is coming off hosting the PGA Championship — one of the game’s major events that drew hundreds of thousands of people to Quail Hollow Club.

Now it’s time for one of Charlotte’s favorite springtime events to reintroduce itself, while capitalizing on the lingering excitement coming off the PGA Championship.

Catch up quick: Charlotte’s annual PGA Tour event became the Truist Championship in August 2024 after years as the Wells Fargo Championship.

Truist, a Charlotte-based bank, has a deal as the title sponsor that runs through 2031. The inaugural Truist Championship took place in Pennsylvania at the Philadelphia Cricket Club to make way for the PGA Championship.

What to expect: The 2026 Truist Championship is scheduled for May 6-10 at Quail Hollow Club. Tickets are expected to roll out in early 2026, Truist Championship sales director Will Bardaglio tells Axios. Here’s what’s ahead on the hospitality side (pricing will be announced at a later date):

The Nest

Expect panoramic views of the 10th green, 11th tee, 12th green and No. 13. It was inspired by the PGA Championship’s Club PGA, the only individual hospitality option where you didn’t have to go corporate to enjoy luxury.

The Nest — which is climate-controlled, has a patio and includes food and drinks — is more accessible for young professionals and small businesses looking for smaller group tickets or individual tickets.

Founders Seats

On the 15th green, your food and drinks will be delivered to your seat. Ticket packages are for eight people per day, Thursday through Sunday.

Champions Seats

On the 13th green, food and drinks will be delivered to your seat. These are similar to the Founders Seats, but ticket packages are for four or eight people per day, Thursday through Sunday.

Green Mile Club

The Green Mile club includes a climate-controlled space, chef-curated food, specialty cocktails, valet service to your shuttle to your hospitality area and views of course near No. 16 and 17. This space will be sold Wednesday through Sunday.

ULTRA Club

The open-air ULTRA Club will have a sports bar vibe with plenty of TVs and views of the 9th hole, plus beer, soda and water included. Spirits and food will be available for purchase.

Zoom out: While these are the newer options, there will be more traditional chalet options as well, each of which is for Thursday through Sunday and has all-inclusive food and drinks.

Palmer Chalet on the 18th green holds 50 in each chalet. It’s a private, open-air suite with an outdoor viewing deck. Yes, the name pays homage to golf legend Arnold Palmer, a key influence in opening Quail Hollow Club.
1960 Suites, which is a nod to the year Quail Hollow Club opened, are on the 18th fairway. They’re semi-private and open-air, with an outdoor viewing deck. This ticket package includes 35 tickets.
Gleneagles Suite has locations on the 17th green and fairway. The semi-private, open-air suites include an outdoor viewing deck. Ticket packages are for 40 tickets.
