Piedmont Triad International Airport is ranked No. 7 in the 2025 Newsweek Readers’ Choice Awards for best small U.S. airports.
Airports were nominated by a panel of travel writers, with the final list determined by Newsweek editors, and voted on by readers.
PTI’s blurb notes it’s centrally located in North Carolina, and says it’s known for Southern hospitality and a “clean, easy-to-figure-out” facility.
PTI stresses convenience in its marketing, using the “Fly Easy” slogan.
Served by the three major legacy carriers, American, Delta and United, PTI also has scheduled service by Allegiant, and in June will have flights by Utah-based carrier Breeze Airways with nonstops to Orlando, Florida, and Hartford, Connecticut. Last year it added United nonstop service to Denver.
PTI has made similar top-10 lists before, including USA Today’s readers’-choice ranking from October.
“PTI’s inclusion in another top 10 small airport ranking is a testament to our team’s hard work and dedication,” Executive Director Kevin Baker said in a press release. “It reflects our shared goal of making air travel easy and enjoyable for people who fly from PTI.”
